Taking your prescription medicine accurately and appropriately is essential for your well-being. The role your pharmacy plays in this is critical. At Think Pharmacy our team of pharmacists is dedicated to getting it right:

  • ensuring your prescriptions get dispensed accurately
  • assisting you to fill your repeat scripts so you don’t run out
  • provide information to maximise the benefit of your treatment
  • carefully choosing the generic brands we recommend to you and your family

You can order Prescription Medication from us but we do need your prescription. When using Think Pharmacy Online you will see Prescription Medicines specified by this icon ???

Think Pharmacy Online gives you a convenient and simple way to manage your prescriptions when filed with us. Think Scripts shows you what scripts you have available, how many repeats, and notifies you when to see your Doctor again.

Australia’s health system can be a little confusing. There are essentially two types of prescriptions – those on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (also called National Health Scheme or NHS Prescriptions) and those that are not (Private Prescriptions).

In many cases the government negotiates for medicines to be on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme. As such, when they are dispensed by an approved pharmacy, they contribute to your Safety Net. The Safety Net is designed to cater for Australians spending more on PBS such that when they reach a predetermined limit during a calendar year, they qualify for concessions. Once this threshold is attained the pharmacy will issue a Safety Net Card.

Australians on pharmaceutical entitlement cards (Pension, Concession, Veteran Affairs, and Safety Net Cards) receive PBS / NHS medicines at a discounted rate with the balance of the cost being paid by the federal government.

For more information on the PBS please visit http://www.medicareaustralia.gov.au/yourhealth/our_services/apbs.shtml .

Private Prescriptions are not covered on the PBS / NHS. Medicines dispensed as Private Prescriptions do not qualify for any government subsidies and do not contribute to the Safety Net.

Some medicines have Generic Brands that are equivalent. Invariably, Generic Brands will provide you with a less expensive alternative. Think Pharmacy chooses these brands carefully. Think Pharmacy will help you decide on generic alternatives and aims to save you money on your prescriptions wherever possible.

Ordering your Prescription Medication – Easy as 1 2 3

  1. You will need to complete a Health Profile for each person you wish to order Prescription Medication for. You can link one of more Health Profiles to a User Account. It is important this is updated so our Pharmacists can ensure you receive the necessary information to best assist with your treatment.
  2. Send your Prescription/s to your local Think Pharmacy chosen for your Account.
  3. Once we receive your prescriptions, we will process them and arrange delivery. You will receive an email notification when they have been dispatched.

NOTE:  For faster processing we suggest you permit us to keep your repeat prescriptions on file. At any time you can see what prescriptions you have on file, we will notify you when you need to see your Doctor for more, and upon request we will send your prescriptions to you.

Your health is important to us. So, if you have any questions please call (07) 3216 4888.
